Ramnad V. Raghavan was an eminent Mridangam player and was born on 19 June 1927 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
Since 1970, he taught music at the Wesleyan University in Connecticut in the United States. After his retirement, he moved to Chennai and spent his last days.
Many students were trained under him. A few of them were: Glen Velez, Jamey Haddad, David Nelson, Patricia Shehan Campbell, Frank Bennett, and Joseph M. Getter.
