the semi-classical Indian dance with the amalgamation of martial, tribal, and folk traditions is the Chhau dance. There are three styles the Purulia, Seraikella, and Mayurbhanj. from martial arts, acrobatics, and athletics to being a structured dance. The themes are based on Shauvus, Shaktism, and Vaishnavism. The costumes differ from Purulia and Serakeilla and use masks to identify the character. Hindu epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata and Puranas scenes are enacted.
The dance is performed by the men traditionally and also is regionally celebrated during every spring season.
